NOT MUCH HAPPENING AT THE MOMENT....SO!

Hello Everyone..

No DT projects to share at the moment...so!!..

I'm going to share a project I have been working on for awhile..and I'm quite happy with the finished result.
I had an order for a canvas or two, and the client gave me a canvas that  she had purchased from a store, and liked at the time, but after the " Bark" canvases I did for her she didn't want this one anymore and gave it to me..well, to be honest I didn't like it much either....so I changed it..

This is what I was given....

Well. it's not that bad.. but to me, Poppies should be red....so!!

I used modelling paste over the poppies and let dry naturally..

Then painted them red with Acrylic paint...shaded the edges with water pastels and smudged away until I couldn't think anymore of what to do...

Then I tinted up some more modelling paste with red paint and plopped it on  here and there...when it dried, I realised I used the wrong red and it dried sort of brown in colour...and I didn't like that much.

So I  painted it again but this time using my fingers as it was so much quicker and I really enjoyed myself...
In this photo I just couldn't get the real colour to show, but it looks,IRL like the first red coat but with more texture...

Anyway, I was happy with it and here it is now on my craftroom wall....not too shabby eh!

HEARTS, ROSES AND A LITTLE BUNNY...FOR DIGITAL DELIGHTS

Hello Everyone...

Phew...not saying a word..about you know what...but have been watching the different countries and send the warmest wishes I can..

Today is Thursday and time for Delightful Thursday at DIGITAL DELIGHTS 

This week I had the pleasure of choosing this little Bunny who is just so sweet...HEART ROSE BUNNY  is her name and deserved to be on a plaque...even a cardboard box heart shape..

There she is, hanging inside one of my plants outside..in the shade...where it is not too hot!

My little bunny is coloured with Faber Castell pencils and I merged the sentiment "Sweet on You " which you can find HERE from Digital Delights onto her heart...gel pen for the dots and the red is a reno marker.

The banner die was from my friend Chrissyxx for Christmas [thanks Chrissy, I love it]..

I added the lace around the heart shape, a bow, flowers and glitter...and paper pieced the heart as the cardboard box had writing all over it..

So there we go...one plaque down and several more to go..orders for next time..

ANOTHER LITTLE OWL - FROM MISS DAISY STAMPS..

Hello Everyone...

I'm not going to mention how stinkin' hot I am, as I know most of you are in Winter and it is mean to go on about how sunny and hot it is here...but it is]...raining cats and dogs here this morning and poodles everywhere...but after lunch..the SUN came out, and boy oh boy, did it get sticky...but we wont talk about the weather!!..eh!!!..

Today I'm here to share another gorgeous image from MISS DAISY STAMPS  ..

This little fellow is called   OWL - WAYS WINTER   ..and he is a little sweetie.

There he is, sitting up on the holly branch with his paper pieced hat and scarf and bright as buttons eyes..

He has a glitter fur trim and pom pom and the leaves, berries and his body coloured with Faber Castell pencils..

A couple of large cuttlebug snowflakes, cheesecloth, and berries for decoration and he was good to go..oh!...and of cause the corrugated cardboard...you have to have corrugated cardboard..

The sentiment is from a set from Miss Daisy Stamps...HERE it is called SNOWMAN SAYINGS 2

But Owls can say it too...

ANOTHER ORDERED CARD TO SHARE..

Hello Everyone..

More orders to share today..

Saturday morning and heading to work shortly, but thought I would pop a card up I made for an order in early December..

 

Cute little Owls with snow caps on..picture off the net.

Papers from my scrap box  and a penny black clear stamp of poinsettias stamped with clear embossing ink and white embossed..

The sentiment is from LOTV and white embossed too...

The lady wanted it thick and she got it thick...

I cant believe, that I made 40 Christmas cards for orders and clients, similar to this, and only photographed a few as I took a photo of the whole group and already posted it  on my blog.,,so down to the nitty gritty's, and just too darn hot to sit and make anything lately..BUT..my flower pots are getting a lot of attention and the back yard is looking quite smart with some colour this year..

Right...need to get a move on..thanks so much for stopping by, another hot one today and will probably have to wrench windows open at 'My Ladies 'house..
...if there is a breeze it must be cold you know!!

DON'T GET SCARED NOW!!

Hello Everyone...

No more cute and cuddly or sweet and precious...today is DINOSAUR day...

I have a canvas to share which was an order for young boy's Birthday, but the lady liked it so much she decided he could have it for Christmas...

Meet TYRANNOSAURUS ..

Isn't he a shocker..just what a little boy loves...it's even got stuff stuck on it's teeth!!

Image was from the internet..printed out and stuck down onto a canvas..

Modelling paste through a brick wall stencil to give some stone work..and the other stones I made with punched circles and grey modelling paste..

Lots of MB fern dies in various colours using scrap card...

And the little lizard was added because I forgot to add a stone where the glue was and didn't want to make another stone, so the lizard it was, but he fits in real well.

I have not heard how the wee chap liked it yet..but a Birthday dinosaur card has been ordered so will get onto that soon.

Not sure I will find challenges for this monster, but will have a nosey around and see...

SNOWY SATURDAYS WITH MISS DAISY STAMPS..

Hello Everyone..

Another Snowy Saturday post with MISS DAISY STAMPS  and believe me when I tell you...it is sooo hot here in NZ today, with strong westerly winds..[which makes it hotter]..and I'm doing a snowy post.. but maybe it will cool me down some...

I'm using the freebie that was available last week and had so much fun with him...if you didn't grab him you can always pop over to the store HERE  and pick him up.

This is"YOU HAVE MY HEART SNOWMAN   and I used him on a tissue box that a client gave me..it was shaped like a house and perfect for playing with...

 

 

There he is, standing outside his tissue box house giving his heart to you all.[ Sentiment also from Miss Daisy, I just made it into a sign post..

I used the masking tape again for a wooden cottage look and punched 1/4 "circles for the roof tiles..

And made sure to leave the gap open for the smoke [tissues] to pop out..and added lots of texture paste for snow and splatterings of white paint...

Marianne Creatables  trees embossed with the swiss dot folder..and the fences with their dustings of snow...the door and hearts with brad door handle..the scene is set..

So that was a fun project and have another tissue box house to play with but maybe for a Spring time project..

DELIGHTFUL THURSDAY TIME..

Hello Everyone...
It is one of those days when I thought is was Tuesday.. someone told me ..NO!!.it's Wednesday, and it ISN"T..it is Thursday for gosh sakes...lol..and time for Delightful Thursday with Digital Delights 
and it is new release time as it is the first Thursday of the month...and it is Thursday??

There she is..Frilly Heart Teddy...and deserved lots of hearts...die cuts and buttons.

I printed her pretty big as I had a brain wave which turned into mush...so I coloured her up with copics and Reno markers, a few Faber Castell pencils too for good measure..then there was no room for papers..so made a CAS card..which it really is..I only added a few hearts.

All those tiny hearts are the left over bits from a die I got for Christmas which I will use in another project...but I just couldn't sweep them away, so painstakingly stuck them all down with the sentiment...had glue all over the place.

And there is another photo..very much like the first one..love those cuttlebug hearts..

HEARTS..

Hello Everyone....

Brrr..it has got real chilly here...crazy weather...rain, sun..rain..wind...has anyone told the weather man that it is supposed to be Summer in New Zealand.

Never mind, the sun will come back and I can start moaning about the sticky heat...must enjoy the cool days while I'm so busy at work..

It is the first Monday of the month and time for a new challenge at Where the heART is 

And this time we have ANYTHING GOES...with two sponsors..SASSY STUDIO DESIGNS, and LACY SUNSHINE...

I made a mixed media canvas using a Lacy Sunshine image "Pink Camellia -Longing for you"

The sweet image is coloured with Reno Markers and all the background with Gelatos after stencilling a heart stencil with modelling paste.

Then I made the heart around the image and added another heart using a corrugated cardboard box cut up behind her.....

A close up of Pink Camellia and the pretty flowers and ruffled ribbon.

Silver heart buttons, twine bow and more stencilled hearts..a few gems here and there and I was done.

SPECIAL DELIVERY!! - WITH MISS DAISY

Hello Everyone, and a very Happy New Year to you all...

A very quiet New Years Eve at my place, just me and the dog...perfect...besides I don't think my gallbladder and liver could cope with any more fuss..

So what brings me here today...well, it is SNOWY SATURDAY for MISS DAISY STAMPS
and I have another sweet image to share with you from the SHOP 

This time we have...SNOW MAIL   ....

Look at that happy face....so glad to get a letter and from the cutest little postbird [man]..

Coloured with Copics... die cut trees and fences from Marianne Creatables and the little envelope is a clear stamp and I just added a Christmas sentiment also a clear set..

A few snowflakes...embossed trees with the cuttlebug folder and all was complete.
