SPOOKY !!..WITH A HAPPY ENDING

Hello Everyone...

Just popped in to tell you what happened to me the other night....

I was sitting on the couch Thursday night and Harry my dog was stretched out the full length on his, sound asleep when I heard..TAP....TAP...TAP...

I just froze and looked at the dog and he didn't even flinch..so I relaxed in my daydream at night again, when again..TAP...TAP...TAP...

Oh! come on...who's playing games with me..I  tried to ignore this tapping, but it just went on and on [just like me]..when suddenly guess who through themselves into my craftroom..MOJO..he came home...hooray!!...he had been tapping in my head to wake me up as he knew what to do...I'm so happy and played straight away and came up with this little piece.

Does it look like tree bark but going side ways...I cannot get the photo to turn so if you just tilt your head sort of.. to the right...there you go!..tree bark..lol..

I will tell you how I did it in a minute, just in case you don't know.

You can straighten your head now...this one is right side up...

Then came splashes of gesso and some card board boxes cut up to get the thick corrugation, and the gorgeous Dragonflies from the Graphics Fairy...fussy cut out and covered in thick glossy accents..

Last, the sentiment stamped from a clear set in my stash of stamps with no name.

To make the bark, I saw a video on U Tube by using masking tape...strips of tape scrunched up a bit as you stick it, then painted with gesso, then the brown, red and black added in small amount with a good soak with water and watch the paint run..so much fun.

So I'm back on deck and even managed a DT card today as it was my day off...2 more days to go and then I'm off for 2 weeks and cant wait..

Thank you all so much for the support and encouragement when mojo was gone..it really helped me relax and not think too hard, and now he is back so I'm really happy...

Have an awesome weekend.. Friday night here, work in the morning and another frost on it's way tonight..I can feel it in the air, but what a boomer of a day we will get..

See you tomorrow.

MOJO DOWN...

Hello Everyone....

My Mojo is still wandering around somewhere..not a lot has been going on here in the craft area and I thank you all so much for the sympathies on his runner..at least I do have some bits and bobs in my drafts so will just share them as I sit and  MOPE!!.

My gorgeous Gran Daughters taken a couple of years ago....this photo was propped up on my dressing table and I decided to stick to mixed media but add a touch of scrapbooking..

The background started with script  printed papers and bubble wrap then gesso was added all over.

Some papers scraps added behind the photo and the little wooden blocks are from the back of the canvas...I just added alphabet stickers to them and inked the egdes..

This beautiful chipboard clock from WOC....and loads of corrugated card stock...don't you just love corrugated cardstock...and I love that little metal flower glued on the green one.

The birds on the branch is from WOC too and the lovely flowers..the green spotted flower was folded in half and poked in under the papers..

Just showing the dimension of it all....

So is this one....

So what you all doing then...suppose you are crafting away..I'm sick of calling that naughty mojo..once I get this stressful course out of the way things might improve.

I have just had my holidays approved so having 2 weeks off to hang around home, get some gardens sorted and may even clean the oven..talk about over the top eh!..but spring is around the corner so I need to get things done..

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by, really appreciate it...I will try and see you tomorrow..

UNDER THE SEA CANVAS

.

Hello Everyone...

Still no mojo...he has really packed a sad and left me..
I have been in my craft room just tidying things and pottering about and NOTHING!!...

This canvas I made weeks ago and it is time to show it now...

The light was not the best for photos ...but I quite like the ocean darkness.

Covered the canvas in gesso and the added texture paste through a stencil to make loads of bubbles..

Then water paint was added..pale green..then blue with lots of water and allowed to dry..

The Seahorses were from Delicious Doodles coloured with Copics then fussy cut out and modge podged into place..then the glass bubbles were added..

Corrugated card stock for the ocean floor and a sprinkling of dazzling diamonds [which scratch and can be quite painful]...but very pretty.

All the buttons along the bottom are vintage buttons and given to me by a client..

The netting is a kiwi fruit bag....fish are clay...and the plants a very soft chipboard that do not like to be messed with, and fall to bits very easily..so only gesso on these with some gems .

This is a real starfish [ the brown one that my grandson collected for me..and the button above [white] looks just like bubbles..I have such a thing for bubbles....

A close up of some of the buttons..

A COLD WINTER POST WITH TEMPS TO MATCH..

Hello Everyone....

Still blowing and icy blow here today but the sun is out...just no warmth in it as you cannot find anywhere to hide from the wind..

So I guess my afternoon will be spent in my craft space and try to put something together as my mojo has wandered off...

He was here the day I made this canvas though..well, I think he was....

.

I used this sweet Mo Manning image" Winter Fairy Manty"...coloured him with pencils...glossed up his wings and fussy cut him out to put on my canvas....

The background was made with water colour paints and water...lots of water..and it all ran down just where I wanted it...I had already  masked off my moon...and cut loads of fern leaves using black cardstock and baking paper...[too soft and pretty to throw away]..

The tiny pine cones are not really pine cones, but they are off a tree [cannot remember the name of it]...and I found heaps down at the reserve when walking the dog..don't know what the dog was doing I was too busy picking up there authentic looking pine cones...they had a treatment of gesso for snow and I love them

Loads of sparkly glitter snow along the bottom and then splatterings of gesso all over....

Yes, I fussy cut those pine tree branches he is carrying...sheez..took along time, but I find fussy cutting more relaxing than colouring....takes all sorts doesn't it.

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW FOR LACY SUNSHINE

Hello Everyone...

Have you seen the weather on the telly for New Zealand..whoo hoo...have we had some storms over here...so freezing cold, but good old Napier, where I live, escaped most of it, with just the freezing winds and rain on Saturday and still blowing a bit of icy air around today..Sunday..

And that brings to mind....time for a new challenge over at the  LACY SUNSHINE BLOG

And  for this fortnight we have... Over the Rainbow..

Make creations that feature rainbows and/or rainbow colours.

For my make this time I was given this precious duo called Sarah Jane and Nibbles

Can you tell who Nibbles is?....

Isn't she a cutie...and Nibbles is in her front pocket...her pet mouse.

I coloured Sarah Jane with Faber Castell pencils on her skin..and played with Copics for everything else.....except for the eyeshadow sky..

Don't know why I printed out the sentiment then cut it into individual letters and stuck them on...should have just used the whole words and the project would have been a lot faster..lol..

The rainbow I have had as a freebie with the adjoining clouds FOREVER and coloured it with Copics too....papers from my stash..

So there we go...join us over at LACY SUNSHINE and share your rainbow projects and while you there you could check out my teamies fabulous work too..

CAT ON A COLD SNOW ROOF - FOR DIGITAL DELIGHTS

Hello Everyone...

Thursday today and still so darn cold here in NZ.. so what do I make to share with you today using an adorable image from the DIGITAL DELIGHTS STORE  ...

A cat on a cold snow roof..you would think I would want to make something warm but I do love making snowy Winter cards...

This little guy is called CHIMNEY CAT  and the sentiment is from the store too but I just cannot find it.. sorry..

I made a roof card by folding card in half the cutting the edges to make the roof shape...then using my brick wall stencil I used modelling paste to make the textured roof..coloured with Distress inks.

CHIMNEY CAT  was coloured with Faber Castell pencils, his hat and scarf with a copic..R27...added flower soft to his fluffy trim and snow glitter under his feet...and tied the Christmas tag onto his tail and he didn't mind a bit..then he was fussy cut out and popped onto the roof...

I made a big yellow moon with a circle die and popped on the Santa and sleigh die cut....
I made sure there was plenty of snow sliding down the roof using PVA glue and loads of glitter and also let the over sprinkle stay on the roof tiles...

AND...the other side..

So there my card for this week and you can see the rest of my teamies projects HERE  ..

The is Winter Fairy Halla from Mo Manning....too cute.

Coloured with Faber Castell pencils on his skin and hair and a copic for his outfit...

Flower soft for his trims and glossy accents on his wings...paper from my stash...

ANOTHER ACCIDENT BUT A HAPPIER ONE!

Hello Everyone...

Had my day off today and  it was pouring with rain and really cold...but I didn't care...I stayed inside and played most of the day...but that work is to show you  another day...today we had another accident.. but I can see the happy place after a fix up.

Ink reacts pretty funny with water colours..or  modge podge..or whatever I plastered over my project..

COPICS DONT PLAY NICE FOR SHADING!!!...I have learned that lesson here....but thankfully with all the wonderful u tube channels I gaze at in wonderment and joy..I learned you can always Gesso over the top of your mess and it does help.

Here we go....

So far so good..[this of course is after a fix up]...

The darker ink behind the sentiment I can live with...but before it was fixed up I had added the ink around the DREAM lettering and man oh man did it bleed...it went everywhere and I just stood there watching it and not knowing what to do...lol..

I remembered to grab some paper towels and re called that wet wipes help wipe it up and that helped a bit...but still it was so brown and messy...

Then U tube came into play again and showed how to Gesso your boo boo's out and start again..well, I gessoed it but never tried THAT again..just left it the way it was with some smudges here and there..

Love this cute little window...it was in  a set of die cut cardboard stickers that I purchased somewhere and just added the tiny flowers and bird..

All the other bits and bobs are from my stash and no reason in making this canvas.. just felt the need to play..

Fussy cut this butterfly [ on the right] out if the papers I used and the other butterfly with the pearls down his back was a chipboard one and I covered him with DP papers..that was fun.

So there we go...learning every day and I must stop pulling my hair out..I wont need a haircut  at this rate...

Thanks so much for stopping by...hope your weekend is the best..I'm working all weekend but will have a few gaps in the afternoons to play...

see you tomorrow.

VERY PINK AND A TOTAL ACCIDENT!!

Hello Everyone...

WOW!! it is so cold here in NZ today with a cold Wintery blast from the south...so glad I live in the North Island on the east coast...still freezing but better than down South...

Onto todays project which I made a few weeks ago and just been staring at it....wondering...

Another mixed media canvas and...PINK...

Now this was not pink when I was sticking stuff down...it went pink when I added modge podge to seal things and the dye from the [cheap] papers spread all over the place...lol..so had to spray a bit more up the top to match.

I didn't have a chipboard window or die, so I stamped one and fussy cut it out..then coloured it with Distress inks..

The little birdie is chipboard and the nest is a  cardboard sticker...made a twine bow and you would think I was born with only thumbs as I find this so hard to do for some reason.

Memory box or Poppy leaves die and bubble stickers for the lettering....brick wall stencil..moulding paste [my old one...but have found beautiful soft paste now and very happy with it..]

All the flowers and gems etc are from my stash and they went pink too..so added more spray paint to even things up..

Anyway it is what it is and I had such fun doing it..

"My lady" is still going strong although we thought we were loosing her a week or so ago...I was so worried, but again, she bounced back and still going at 97...her memory is worse than ever and am I sure she is in her own bed, because she does recognise the dressing table...lol..

ICE CAPADES- WITH LACY SUNSHINE

Hello Everyone...

I was just on facebook dreaming away and saw a post  by one of my teamies for Lacy Sunshine and nearly had a melt down as I had forgotten to write up my post, but think I'm still in time..

So here we go...another new challenge over the Lacy Sunshine and this time is ANYTHING GOES - WINTER...and the Sunshine girls had gorgeous new images to play with...

My sweet little lady is called ""Joy to the World" Angel Kisses

Such a sweetie and perfect for Christmas...

Skin and hair coloured with Faber Castell pencils and her gown with Copics and pencils for shading...

Finally was able to use my white flower soft on her trims...her wings look pink but the glitter glue was clear and I think it reacts with the ink off the printer..

I love the music note die cuts that Annie sent me....added a few white feathers and white netting for softness and Cuttlebug snowflakes from glitter card..

The sentiment is a Penny Black clear set from a magazine.

Hope you can come over and join in our challenge with a Winter theme...right up my alley as it is freezing over here...

FLOWER FAIRY WITH DELIGHTFUL THURSDAY MIXED MEDIA

Hello Everyone....

Thursday again...really!!...where did the first 3 days of the week go..

Never mind....glad to be here and to share another mixed media project  using a fabulous new image from DIGITAL DELIGHTS  and the first Thursday in the new month [JULY!!!] so all the DT's are sharing new releases...

FAIRY FLOWER POWER ROSIE  ....that's the name of this little sweetie surrounded by flowers and bees and pretty blue skies on a Summers day....

So sorry that the glitter blinds you, but no matter where I went there was Winter sun and it really shows up glitter for some reason...

The grass.. I spread thick green  paint along the bottom of the canvas and flicked it up..pretty good eh!

Little Rosie was coloured with Faber Castell pencils and some Copics and Reno markers...

The mushrooms were off the net..printed and fussy cut....the wire butterflies from my stash.

Modelling paste through a honeycomb stencil and so were the bees from the same set...found a new paste now..so creamy and easy to use...this stuff is a bit stiff and I don't get it nice and smooth...

Loads of flowers form my stash...the yellow ones off a girls headband..I didn't knock her down and steal her headband, I bought one..[ just in case you were wondering.]

Ladybugs...pearl flowers..chipboard bird and MB clouds...lots going on..

So thanks so much for calling in and you can see the rest of the new release by my Teamies HERE on the DT blog..
