Sometimes you just gotta do, what'cha gotta do

                                                    Hello Everyone,

Just a fleeting visit to post my card,...and the heading says it all.

A challenge over at Digis with Attitude called for stars....well 'Clipper' still favour of the month, and I just love this guy.
Very similar to before, but this time it is night time...hence the stars, which are tiny brads,and added small beads to bottom of the card...computer sentiment..and I still love him.
Enjoyed the wedding, so much, but nodded off and missed the kiss.............................but saw BOTH kisses later this morning. [sigh]

Off to make chicken stir fry for tea...its the only time I can over eat and not feel guilty......cause veges are good for me!!!

Rain has Stopped

                                                     Hello Everyone

Well, thank goodness it has finally stopped raining.....for now. The water has drained from me very quickly...but lower down the island the people are having a real bad time.

"Harry " is so happy to be out and about again...doing his business rather leisurely without waiting for me and the umbrella...oh! the things we do for these pampered pooches...lol...

I have 2 cards to share today...both for challenges this time..

Well this is not a card...but it is the biggest bookmark I have ever seen. I made this especially for a couple of books...'Gone with the wind' and 'War and Peace'.... they are the biggest books I know..lol..

The bookmark is for a challenge at Meljens designs 'Create a bookmark'.

I have never done a bookmark before..and this is a doozy. Used Meljens designs teacup, inked all the edges, used an old book page for backing paper,a chipboard corner thingy up the top, PC sentiment,
ribbon.lace.flower from my stash....Oh dear...

Next up, Buttons and Mothers...

This was a freebie, coloured with copics, added a few tiny red buttons in the middle of some of the flowers, and mounted the flowers on a fabric swatch, then glued a few more buttons around the corners. A lace ribbon trim around the edge of the card, and the papers are MME...
This is for Craft us Crazy  Mothers - Flowers and Simon says  show some buttons.

Tilda meets Meljens designs.

                                                 Hello again....

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring........

The army have arrived to evacuate a place here called Te Awanga....it  is beach township, one might say, anyway the storm has hit and roofs are blown off, trees down, small towns evacuated, \cars have been blown off the highways in other parts, and sewer drains are bubbling and gurgling, BOY, this is rough.
The rain has been torrential for 3 days and nights non stop...But, I'm snug and warm in my wee house, I'm on
high ground and spend a LOT of time coaxing 'Harry' to go toilet, and he spends a LOT of time walking backwards to get back to his couch..lol..big sook...

Right oh...on to cards. Have 2 more cards to show and they are just for fun...

This is a cute freebie from Digital two for Tuesday. mme papers ,and everything else out of my stash. Wonderful to colour. just a fun card.

Now...the next one. Firstly though, I won this...

AND...I also won  4 Meljen designs digis from Cheryl just had to choose what I wanted, and within a blink of an eye they were there on my computer.

As I love everyones Tildas ..with masking.. with fences....I chose one of Melgins Designs fences..and put Miss Tilda with it.

So...what do you think? I'm really thrilled with it. I really think it worked well.
Again....mme papers. lace, flowers. from my stash, tiny butterflys punched out and glued on.

A dragon and a bambi

                                             Hello!!

Have we had RAIN!!!  I'm flooded in. Council sucking out the gutters now, so will be going to work.later.

We have huge trees down our rd. and the wind has blown the leaves off and all the gutters are blocked...some streets are closed and there are warnings about bridges being dangerous.
The good news is the wind blew the leaves OUT of my place...YES!!! ...no racking for me this weekend.

Onto cards...
This first card I made for a sister in law[ex, but still great mates]

He's so cute. It was a freebie from Dustin Pike. He's got some wicked images.
The backing is a material swatch that I picked up awhile ago. I loved it because it sort of reminds me of medieval times, it has green checks in there as well but I've covered them up.

Sooo cute. Just ignore he's holding a chicken...it's a birthday card...lol...

My next card is for a challenge at Sundays with Crissy  ...Babys-animals or human.

This was another freebie, but slap me silly I cant remember where from. I do have it written down, like every thought and message I ever have, so it is in the pile somewhere.
Such fun to colour, leaf ribbon from RRR[a gift from Tilly] with flowers[WOC] and pearls. Crocheted doily,
one of my birthday gifts.

Well thats those two done.....I'm having a play with 2 images and getting very excited as it is working..hopefully have it up tomorrow.
I seem to be on a roll again...hope it lasts.

Rightio  then...time for my water wings...venture out and hope for the best.

More Pink...

Hi! everyone,

Well thank goodness those dreadful chocolate munchers have gone home, AND taken their chocolate [whats left] with them....lol...

They are the most sharing kids ever, who on earth taught them to be like that....I ate rabbits ears, marshmellow eggs, hollow eggs, a WHOLE box of roses chocolates, caramello eggs...[lost count on those]
I deserved every bit of tummy pain I got.....BUT...OH SO GOOD!!!

Still managed to get a few cards done over the long weekend.....and this one was the biggest headache of all..I think I was so hyped up with the chocolate...lol...I just kept going and going.

This fairy on a cupcake was an image I won over at Bizzy Becs ages ago.
Before I learnt how to shrink the images...lol...The papers from a magazine, flowers from the warehouse packets of 30 flowers for $4...thats a good bargain.The leaves from Dora, pearls, feathers, from my stash, and the spellbinders butterfly. Coloured with copics.

We are having a storm today [Tuesday morning] Rain coming in from the south with wind and the east with rain...not cold..just wet...yay!! have 4 clients today...in and out of the car till 3pm...and it's laundry day for 3 of them...whoo hoo, clothes rack in the garage time...

I have a card for today as well, but not an image from 'Platypus' I wanted to show you my image that I won all inked up and coloured.

There she is in all her glory. 'Flora Bonita'
The papers are MME and the swirl is a Tim Holtz die. Added heaps of blue pearls [couldnt stop] and a new spellbinders butterfly.[love this]...For her hair I added some copper gel pen as it was a bit dull...still is in the picture, but IRL it shines. Added a feather behind the organza bow for a bit of interest ,and a bit of height, as I didnt want flowers.

Too much chocolate...[Groan]

YEP!!! overdone it already and today is only Saturday 1pm.....Who taught these kids how to share...??

I've not only eaten mine ,but half of theirs too, if they dont like it, all I here is ' here you are Nana' so I eat it...lol...

Two cards today for challenges...

"Pink and sweet" for crafts and me I made my flowers and leaves...the leaves a new spellbinder die...same with the butterfly, and the image is from the candy I won...but the poor girl is talking to no one cause I cut her phone line..oop's

Well this is as bright as I can go. Got the colours all there. Another cute image given to me from Squirrel. Oh!! I made my pins...bought some beads Thursday...and played with pins...

Ahhh! goodness me

Hi! everybody.....

Boy! has that chicken of mine caused a stir...lol...There is absoloutely no reason for the chicken apart from the fact he sits on my kitchen bench..and thats where I was standing to take my photos...

SEE!!!...lol...
When I had up-loaded my pics and was showing you my room, I noticed the chickens...just sitting there...and directly beyond them was the printer on the unit...so I just used them for a focal point.

Theres my chickens...wonderful pets...they are sooo quiet...lol..
Oh dear..I was laughing at some comments...wondering what the chickens had to do with my craft room....

So while we are cruising around again..heres my fish in their dirty tank...this is 'Widget' and 'Blinkie'
mmmm....how original, I'm scared of fish...I know....when I try to clean the tank the little....blighters come and suck my fingers and it scares the  heck out of me...

So, thats the chickens done...the fish are done...and  if you are still here I'll show you the candy I won..

My 2 1/2 inches

Oh! what a beautiful morning...Oh!what a beautiful day! I've got a funny feeeeeeling, nothings going right today....

What a great start..pulled venetian blind up and the whole thing fell down.....
pushed the kettle button down.....nothing....now my toothbrush handle snapped...lol...such minor problems but enough to make you grimmace....

Anyway, I dont care..tomorrows pay day, got myself in credit with rent.. so have a few extra pennies in my pocket this week...hope they can stay there...but highly unlikely...

Have a few pictures today..but want to start with a couple of cards..

Love the feeling of this card it is so thick...like smelling pages in a new book.
Meljen designs giraffe...too cute. This little guy is going into two challenges..
Meljens designs they have a recipe..3 colours..2 patterned paper..1 bow.
My colours..brown...yellow orange/dark orange..papers are the striped and leafy, and LAYERS...
which brings me to the next challenge..
cupcake crafts have a challenge with 'lots of layers' and this wee card has 5 layers.


My next card is  different, as an elderly client [93] gave me this little mouse that she had cut out into a circle and thought I could use it 'On my Blod'....as I've been telling her what I've been doing..she is deaf so she cant here the 'G' so it's my 'Blod'..lol..so I made a card for her...as she going to the Drs. again and thought I would just give her this back...plus it is for a challenge at Craft us Crazy .....'thinking of you' - animals.

Cute little mouse...easy card....but quite pretty. Used MME papers..all glittery, everything else out of my stash.

Just a couple of photos to show you my extra 2 1/2 feet of craft space.

See that lump in the carpet? Well the big dark cabinet behing that black cabinet was on THIS side of that lump.

So now just behind the chicken at the back...my printer can now sit on that unit instead of up on my desk where my elbow rests when I'm typing... Perfect....

And one more because I'm showing off...Those black cabinets with wheels were the best buy ever from K mart. The draws are 12x12 and one holds  all my papers..well nearly all.and the other one in this photo holds my wooden stamps and clear stamps in the bottom. The little plastic bags hanging in the front are baby singlet snap lock bags that my daughter scored for me from her work. They hold my fancy papers and clear stamps...you can only look at them...no touching..lol..

Hi! Everyone,

Hope the weather is being kind....we had gorgeous Sunday today..bit of cloud just cool and lovely.

Had a bit of a tidy up in my craft corner, moved a few bits around and ended up with 2 1/2 more feet.

Dos'nt sound like much but the area looks huge to me...just need to re-arrange cube shelving to use the space up better,,but not now I'm too dusty....

Onto cards...have 2 to share today...

This little cutie image is from Dora, and I dont know where from...but she's cute and the little snail is from Kaisercraft... Some Meljen designs clouds, made the umbrella, papers from scrap box, coloured wee girl with copics..

Cute dog off the net...was a colouring page and I saved it then shrank it down..I like it because it had the easter egg with it. papers from scrap box, love the bow..very pretty ribbon from the emporium ages ago.
Coloured with pencils,copics and memento markers.

I'm going to have a go at scheduling this  post for later tonight as I want to practice.

Hello and good morning to everyone......

Well.. what a big day yesterday...I'm still soooo full there is no breakfast for me today.
What a fabulous night I had with my family...talk about laugh...I had mascara that must have been 1 year old still running down my face this morning..lol..

My favourite tea.. fish and chips..then carrot cake..LOTS OF IT...then came games..we played Scattergories..think thats how you spell it...The made up words some people come up with, and are so serious about it....I came last...lol.

Anyway the games went from bad to worse..handstands one week...trying to get me to do twister...well thats another post on it's own..lol..

Great night and now a great day and week ahead.

I made the top 5 at 'Fussy & Fancy friday challenge' just have to figure out how to get my 'Blinkie' and any advice that is very basic and simple would be very much appreciated.
This is the card...

The other exciting thing for me to tell you is I'm a new DT for Make it Monday I'm very excited and nervous.
First time as a DT...one step at a time..[still got butterflys though]

Right..next up and finally...[mmm]...Another card.and hopefully in time for these challenges...

Best photo I could come up with...either too sunny, or too dark...

Well thats a bit closer and you can see the sparkle now...and bits of glue..lol..
Made my own designer paper by stamping & embossing with gold, flowers and butterflys...then stuck the butterfly paper upside down...so covered it with Tilda...lol..



This is  one of the images from Squirrel and I just love it..little Princess had to be pink and sparkly..
Need a bit more...lot more colouring practice. and definately some new pencils.

Sweet New Friends

Happy Thursday Everyone 5.30am.......

I have said this before along the line, and must say it again...the kindness I have found since blogging, the friendships that have blossomed, when we have never met, has amazed me. I can honestly say...that I have made more friends doing this, than I have made  in the real world....

I have never been happier to turn on my computer every morning... before the birds have even opened their eyes...just to see who dropped by...what messages I have received... what everyone else has been doing while I snoozed...Blogging has shown me the Kindness..Caring..Compassion..Thoughtfulness...and not forgetting the Humerous side of life that I would never want to loose.....are we all teary eyed yet...lol...


With saying all that.. once again I have been hit by the postman with a wonderful gift....
The very kind and sweet Squirrel...you know the one that 'Lives in her own little world..but thats ok...they all know her there'...makes me read that every time I enter her blog...and I smile....well..squirrel knew that  I cant get 'Magnolias' here ..... and how much I loved them.... so she sent me these...

Am I lucky girl...Thank you squirrel...so very much...I have coloured my first one last night...hopefully build a card today.

Another Meljen design card...love these images....It is actually a valentine image....but I moderated the sentiment and added embellies. These eggs were a freebie [terribly sorry, gone right out of my head ]
The sentiment I made with rub on stickers...to sort of go with what's already written...

Love is sweet....and so R you...Happy Easter. Had to make 2 circles...ran out of room...lol..

I'm not getting it........they will put money on it..all my kids chip in...so thats sweet.

Last Post

Hi! again everyone,

Last 2 cards for the weekend....it's now Monday morning..off to work in half an hour...[boo..hiss]

The first card is for a challenge, and all I could come up with was a scene. The challenge called for 'totally Tropical' at Cute card Thursday

I just inked a beach theme..stamped a big palm leaf...giant size 'P' for paradise..and another of those neat flowers I found...this time a large brad in the centre [found that hiding as well ]....

The next card..I had fun with..for a challenge at  Pixie Dust Studio their theme ' lace it up '

So I laced up a corset...added more lace to the card..made it a bit sexy [ sort of ] with the red rose and a feather...just to fill in a gap...but thought it looked quite good. The papers are from a small pad...from Rosies,
Lots of nice patterns...but thin paper...still it works..................speaking of work I must fly...

Two Babies and a Bee!!!

Hi! All,

Well..not really 2 babies...2 cards....not a brown one in sight...I binned it yesterday...awful.

This was the first replacement that I did , and in such a hurry...thinking I had no time...but she wont be here till Tuesday..panicking over nothing...pretty plain...just did not have enough embellies with yellow...the lonely brad up the top has a little butterfly on it..well, that is hiding a boo boo. The metal label holder is new...and I love them.


My next card is for a challenge...yellow/green...boy.. that was a hard one for me...none of my greens and yellows wanted to play...

Then I found this flower deep in my cupboard...actually a whole packet of them, and the rest was history. A gorgeous image from Meljens designs...love these images...this in a challenge at crafts 4 eternity

And the last card is my absolute favourite..I was so tired last night but it would not let me go and everything flowed beautifully....another Meljen Design soooo cute...this is for a sketch challenge

Baby girl...with an oop's

Hi! everyone,

What a fantastic, beautiful day we had today...here. I actually did some heavy tree pruning, harsh trimming, rose butchering, then gave that up ..came inside and made cards....much better fun.

This card was requested by a young girl ..who had a friend.. who just had a baby girl. That seems simple enough...wanted a hand made card from me as she  loves my work [deep blush..with a smile] so I got to work and found this image.. freebie on the net...shrunk it down to fit....coloured her...layered the card...fluffed around....and then looked at it..knowing that this was not going to be the right card..

The reason is...the young lady in question is a Maori...and this little baby is as white skinned as you can get.
{ for those who do not know what a Maori is...they are our brown skinned  people in NZ }

I tried to colour her darker but she just looked like a dirty baby..lol..so I kept her, and have made 2 other cards...I will show you tomorrow...too dark now to photograph.
I've decided to show her this one anyway, as you never know, she may not care, your even think about colour, but at least I can give her the option .

Ohhhh!!! What a hoot..My hot chocolate with 3 marshmellows is ready now, have to have 3...not the same with just 2...Have a great  day...catch up tomorrow...

Cute time... and wet!!

Hello everyone,

It is pouring with rain tonight [Thursday]...I really want to go to bed just to listen to it...there is not another, more relaxing sound to me...but..I cant.. because the smell of roasting buttercup, kumera, and taties, and a juicy steak waiting his turn...is driving me crazy.

So..decided to post now...trying to take my mind off my tummy...mmm..

A little boy told me that he is five! His mother informs me that he's going on 4 and just wants to go to school so he can take his 'Pooh bear' to show the BIG kids. So of course a card had to surface for him. Now..I dont have Winnie the Pooh stamps...so jumped on the net and found this little cutie..AND it fits into a challenge at Sentimental Sundays so here is what I ended up with.

Cute huh!! It was  a colouring page and I shrunk it. Now...get this...I coloured with copics...pencils too pale and I took the plunge again, and only cause the colours I had, worked with a 'Pooh'.
The challenge is "Lets get wet" and I really enjoyed doing this card. No ribbon...just papers, button, and the letter 4. One of those plastic cake decorating ones, and a sentiment .

Off for tea..I'm quite peckish..hope you enjoy this one,have another couple in the pipe line and my own designer paper..............................................well for a challenge..lol..

Easter is almost here

Hi! everyone,

Tuesday afternoon, and I have my muscles back in place, all limbered up, did a good mornings work, and now settled down in front of my computer and craft table all in one....AND..Yes..I really did handstands...
Did not say it was pretty...but I did do them....and should see me Zumba..now thats scary...lol..


Okay...enough chatter..lets see some more cards.

I love this...A real boy card for Easter. Image is Kenny K 'Victory Kid. The Easter eggs are made with the smallest scallop oval nestie. You know that one that you looked at and said  'what on earth would I use that size for' well... I dont have an oval punch. or an oval nestie [ plain ] so I had a go with this wee die...and bingo..cute eggs...a sprinkle of glitter here and there...Easter eggs.
Big chip board 'E' from the $1 shop...bought packets and packets of them for scrapbooking but never use them all. ..so still got heaps...and small wooden alphabets, just gave them some ink.
This was going in a challenge  but I was too late.


Now for the girls...

I love this card too.So much fun and flowed together.
Used the basket stamp again. but this time it is filled with eggs...got the egg thing going and cut out far too many...just had to use them. I must get some glue that does not stick so quick, would have liked the eggs a bit tidier...but this stuff sticks.
The border on the bottom from $1 shop..cut in half..ribbons scraps across the top right corner, couple of dies for the middle. papers from stash. Computer sentiment..
This is going in a challenge at craft us crazy an Easter/spring theme.

Butterflys everywhere!!!

Hello again, my friends...

Another day..another dollar..Monday afternoon, just finished work, and every muscle I have is aching...[groan]...My own fault... as I am not 10yrs old....I cannot do roly polys with kids any more...and hand stands are just..... ridiculous...but, oh! what fun I had being the class clown for a day, and it entertained 4 grandchildren on a beautiful atumn day.[but that is it..no more] lol..


Have two cards to share, as I never had a chance on Sunday, as I was a bit busy..mmm...

Challenge...buttons and bows and dont forget something with wings...
We have a fairy, butterfly papers, buttons shaped like flowers,and the bows are hair snaps on the side as this card is for one of my grandaughters..

The next card...more butterflys, a challenge at The secret crafter

Anything you want - must have a butterfly. The papers are MME, and the basket is a stamp that Ive had forever, cant remember the name, but it's been so versatile. Tucked into the basket are leaf dies, and little roses added here and there, as I didnt have enough flowers to do a floral arrangement..
Gold sticker butterflys. and pearls thingys that argued with me all the way.

So that's those 2 challenges, and now  I'm going to have a play with a few more photos, and try to make them small, otherwise we could be playing here till next Tuesday...so if this works, this was a quiet time on Sunday, with my boys.
