Pretty flowers and berries from WOC and a Couture Creatables  Fir tree branch die and some gold berries or baubles too..

The other berries are real ones and still attached to my bush in the garden..they just happened to be hanging there when I photographed...

Hello everyone...

Welcome back to my blog and it is time for another challenge at Classic Design Team Open Challenge  and as always it is " Anything Goes"..

This time we have as our sponsor Nikki Burnette  and I was able to choose this wonderful image to use for this challenge called Morrigon Goddess

This lovely image was coloured with Reno Art Markers and Faber Castell pencils...

The rock she was leaning on called for modelling paste tinted with black and white paint to make the grey...and a little more black spread around..

The gorgeous feather embellishment has been in my stash for ages and this [ to me]was the right time to use was originally a broach I found in the $1 store...

The background papers are from a 12x12 pad "Lost and Found Two" and I stencilled with black paint the leaf..

This is a tall card with side opening and left fairly plain..

So there we go...I will be back later on  with another post..please pop over to the challenge blog HERE  and check out my teamies awesome projects..and link your work up while you are there...we will be around for the whole month...see you there.

Thanks so much for stopping day off today [Friday]..and it is freezing with wind and rain and I don't have to go any where..yay!!

Hello Everyone...

Time for my tree bark tutorial and sorry there is a lot of photos and steps..

This is what I started out supplies..

Layer strips of masking tape onto canvas or whatever you want to make your tree on to form a base for the scrunched up tape to stick to..

Now add strips of tape and squish it up as you stick it down - not neat - just do it as it comes...

and keep layering the strips until you think you have enough and you can make" knots" for the tree too..

I placed my "Knot"in the centre and will add another later...

Once I'm happy with the tape -'[  it keeps sticking up a bit and wont stick down tight, but we are gonna fix that]..we come to modge podge or any medium that dries hard..

While it is drying bits still pop up so just press them down while drying with a heat gun and they eventually stick down ....and when

dry we cover the whole tree and page with Gesso...this makes a non porous background for whatever your colour medium is..

Now for the fun part....PAINT.....
First layer - Burnt Sienna or any light reddy brown colour..

Second Layer - Burnt Umber or any darker reddy brown paint..

Third layer - Raw Umber - or any shade of a darker brown.
Use the brush really lightly and you get those strokes showing which gives it the natural texture of bark..

Fourth Layer - A light splattering of black..
All these coats were added while paint still can wait for each layer to dry if you want...I just don't have a lot of patience..and I really think it works better while the layers are still wet.

NOW..I let it dry - be back after lunch..

Two ham, cheese and onion sandwhiches later..I'm back..
Have coloured the background with Geltos and used baby wipes to help wet and spread.. then used my fingers on the rest....

Back to the tree...this time a bit of shading with a black pastel crayon and add any more black and brown paint to the trunk and branch just in case it needs it dries it sometimes leaves too much white showing..

Punch out a gazillion leaves and stick them down..only on the stalk ends so they pop out..

Then I added my "Sweet Blooms" image from Miss Daisy Stamps

Little cutie has even made diamonds grow in the centre of her flowers...

Now that was supposed to be the end of my tutorial...but the more I looked at this project over the last fews days.. the more it rattled me and I was not happy that I place the branch so low down the page and made it so thick...So I added another branch and leaves...and a Marianne watering can and wheelbarrow die...

Some leaves in the join of the branch and then added a birdhouse tied on the branch with I'm happier...

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope my tutorial showed you just how easy it really is..I love doing these trees and I feel a forest coming on in the near future..with a Deer..and just never know..

See you tomorrow..

Hello Everyone...

Here today to share my DT inspiration project for MISS DAISY STAMPS and I have gone all soft and pastel...very soft and pastel..

This precious wee Mermaid is called MERMAID PEARL

She is such  sweetie and beautiful to colour..and I really did go all pastel..but .the light was so bad that day when photographing and I did mean to take more photos as they look a bit blue...and well, just forgot until I loaded them this morning..

I used Faber Castell pencils for colouring a red marker on her heart embellishment and a few spots in the sand..and then encased her beautiful shell with green gems..

Some cheesecloth and a few dies were added and liquid pearls for bubbles and the background was done with streaks of blue and green pencils..

So there we go...and if you feel like something fun to do there is our FACEBOOK PAGE GROUP  to go and visit...and of course the new range of We R 3 digital papers HERE

Thank you so much for stopping by and tomorrow I will be back with my "TREE BARK TUTORIAL" so hope you can join me..

See you tomorrow..

Stencilled some grunge prints and added texture with a stencil and modelling paste...

Added my bird after fussy cutting him out....

A hessian rose with a sentiment  and he was done...

Hello Everyone..

Here today to share my DT inspiration project using a new release image from the 1st June..from

This is MIA ON A SWING  and she is on an A4 Water colour sheet..

I coloured her skin and hair with Faber Castell pencils...left her dress white but coloured the hearts and the bow in her hair with Reno Art Markers...then fussy cut her out and popped her onto the water paper..

When I cut her out,  I cut the drawn strings off and added real strings to the swing..

The background is coloured with Gelatos and I painted in some grass and flowers..

The tree tops, I printed and cut out several times and added foam squares underneath..

And of course I made a masking tape tree..a tutorial will be on my blog on how to make these trees on the 26th June..

So there we go...for more inspiration pictures you can check us out on PINTEREST

and also pop on over to our FACEBOOK GROUP CHALLENGE BLOG
